Thank you for visiting our website!

Welcome to St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Bound Brook, we are a diverse and loving group of Episcopalians from around the corner, and around the world. Some of us come from as faraway as Nigeria, India, Jamaica and even a few come from Brooklyn. But most of us are from Middlesex, Somerset and Hunterdon counties.

We are a congregation committed to reaching out to others in this bruised and battered world in the spirit of Jesus Christ. As Christ touched others and allowed others to touch him so we are called forth beyond our church doors. We reach out not as a duty but in the spirit of joy and thankfulness for all that we have been given. We have been greatly blessed and strive to be a blessing to others.

At the parish level, we have a weekly program of feeding others called Lunch On Us that has been part of our congregational life for over twenty five years. Our worship on Sundays is at 8AM in the Rite I traditional style from the Book of Common Prayer. The 10AM service is in the Rite II style. We are a welcoming and inclusive community. Come visit and See!

Thought for the Week – August 13, 2019

Mary, the Mother of Jesus, is remembered in a special way on August 15.  Often referred to as the Blessed Mother, Mary provides an enduring legacy of taking risks for our faith.  Imagine the risks Mary took when she said “Yes” to the angel Gabriel.  Mary was willing to assume many risks as part of being chosen to become the Mother of Jesus.  She faced social pressures as well as religious consequences for her decision to bear a child.  In fact, in the political reality of Mary’s time, she could have been stoned when the fact of her pregnancy became public.  Christians in our part of the world generally do not risk being stoned for our faith, but openly proclaiming our belief in Jesus remains risky.  What are we willing to risk for our faith?

Announcements:

The next Mr. Subs Fundraiser is on Tuesday, August 20, from 10 AM to 8 PM.  No coupon is needed so stop by for lunch and/or dinner!  Mr. Subs is located at the corner of Union Avenue and Tea Street in the same shopping center as the 7-11.

Thank you to everyone who made this summer’s Bulk Clean-Up a great success!  The front basement under the narthex is in good shape thanks to many people’s hard work.

Please review the names you submitted for the prayer list and contact Sheri at the church office if any names should be removed.  She can be reached by email (stpaulscc6@gmail.com) or by phone (732-356-0247).

It seems hard to believe, but September is rapidly approaching!  Saint Paul’s will welcome the new school year on September 8 with our first “Blessing of the Backpacks” during the 10 AM service.  Students of all ages, teachers (including Sunday School teachers), and all school professionals will receive special blessings as well as some treats.  September 8 is also our Sunday School picnic and the whole parish is invited.  Please join us!

As you travel this summer, please remember that the church’s expenses do not take a vacation.  Please continue to give generously to Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church, even if you are not present on Sundays.
