Thank you for visiting our website!

Welcome to St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Bound Brook, we are a diverse and loving group of Episcopalians from around the corner, and around the world. Some of us come from as faraway as Nigeria, India, Jamaica and even a few come from Brooklyn. But most of us are from Middlesex, Somerset and Hunterdon counties.

We are a congregation committed to reaching out to others in this bruised and battered world in the spirit of Jesus Christ. As Christ touched others and allowed others to touch him so we are called forth beyond our church doors. We reach out not as a duty but in the spirit of joy and thankfulness for all that we have been given. We have been greatly blessed and strive to be a blessing to others.

At the parish level, we have a weekly program of feeding others called Lunch On Us that has been part of our congregational life for over twenty five years. Our worship on Sundays is at 8AM in the Rite I traditional style from the Book of Common Prayer. The 10AM service is in the Rite II style. We are a welcoming and inclusive community. Come visit and See!

Thought for the Week – June 12, 2019

Churches from around the Anglican Communion remember Evelyn Underhill this weekend.  She lived in England at the turn of the 20th century.  Underhill is perhaps best known for her works on Christian mysticism.  She passionately believed that all people had access to God through mysticism – not just monks and nuns.  Underhill encouraged her sister and brother Anglicans to find and nurture a deep connection with God in their everyday lives – even when doing laundry and washing dishes!  How can we actively seek a deeper connection with God in our ordinary lives?

Announcements:

Calling all households with youth and young adults!  Please keep your eyes open for a survey about “Home, Heart, and Community,” our inaugural summer program with local Episcopal Churches.  Your input is needed to make sure we meet your family’s needs so please turn in the survey as soon as possible!  (A copy of the survey is attached to this email.)

Join Reverend Foley at the Bridgewater Commons at the third floor center food court by the Sbarro on Tuesday, June 18, 12:30-1:30 PM for the second June session of Pray with a Priest.  This ministry is open to the public and a free cup of coffee is available to those who stop by the table.

The next Mr. Subs fundraiser is next Tuesday, June 18.  Mr. Subs generously sends a portion of their proceeds for the day to Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church.  There is no coupon required so be sure to stop by between 10 AM and 8 PM for your lunch and/or dinner!  Mr. Subs is located at the corner of Tea Street and Union Avenue in Bound Brook, across from the ShopRite.

There is a planning meeting for “Home, Heart, Community” on Saturday, June 22, at 10 AM in Rennell Hall.  Anyone interested in making the inaugural summer program with local Episcopal Churches a success is welcome to attend.  Hope to see you there!

Coffee Hour is an important opportunity for fellowship, providing time together for conversation and catching up.  Donations of time and food are welcome.  Please sign up on the sheet to the right of the kitchen window in Rennell Hall.  For suggestions, please see Nancy McEwan, Jean Hinkson, or Reverend Foley.
